Leroy's Story

Leroy is #ADOPTABLE from his foster home, please email adoptions@catnapsociety.com to apply for and meet Leroy.

Male, domestic short hair, brown tabby w/ white

Leroy is a handsome, sweet, gentle giant with an easy-going personality that shines through shortly after meeting him. He has welcomed plenty of visitors while in foster care and has happily soaked up all the attention and affection.

This lovable boy absolutely adores being brushed and petted, but his favourite thing of all is simply being close to his people. After a good brushing session or some well-deserved pets, Leroy is perfectly content to settle down nearby and relax.

Leroy has been learning his manners quickly with positive reinforcement and rewards. He is incredibly treat motivated — especially when licky tube treats or Temptations are involved! Treats are definitely the fastest way to win his heart and grab his attention.
A
s his confidence grows, Leroy has started to enjoy playtime too. He loves chasing treats and is beginning to discover the fun of wand toys, springs, and balls. While he’s curious and confident exploring new rooms and toys, he was admittedly a little unsure about the stuffed penguin he was gifted!

Although Leroy is not currently a fan of being picked up, it’s believed that with time, patience, and trust in his forever home, he may become more comfortable with it.

This gentle giant is looking for a loving home where he can continue building confidence, enjoy plenty of affection, and stay close to the people he loves most.

To help Leroy settle into a new space, we recommend starting him off in a smaller safe room so he can adjust gradually and feel safe. Reading the “Rule of Three” document included with the adoption resources will help you help Leroy settle in.

#Compatibility
Cats: Leroy has also shown positive behaviour during brief interactions with the resident cats and seems curious about them, suggesting he may do well with a calm feline companion
Dogs: Unknown, Leroy did not meet dogs while in CatNap’s care
Kids: The boisterous nature of young children would be too much for Leroy. He would prefer older cat savvy children/ teens or an adult only home.

#Age
Estimated age: 4 years

#Veterinary #Information
• Leroy has been neutered
• Leroy had a comprehensive dental done while in care, including a cleaning and extractions. He has good oral health at this time. A home oral hygiene regimen such as daily tooth brushing, oral gel, water additive, dental powders added to wet food, or dental treats are recommended to help support good dental health.
