Leotie and Flounder's Story

BONDED TRIPOD PAIR

Meet Leotie and Flounder, an irresistible bonded pair of black cats (estimated DOB: 5/13/2025). Leotie is an adorable kitten with a sleek black coat. Her foster family describes her as very talkative and attention-seeking. She’s quite tech-savvy and enjoys playing video games on her iPad. Flounder loves kicker toys and making biscuits with his one front paw. One of Flounder‘s favorite activities is perching on your shoulder like a parrot, especially if you let him play with your hair! Leotie and Flounder’s foster parents have also worked on carrier training and nail trimming. They are both big cuddle bugs and enjoy lap time with their foster parents. Leotie and Flounder have been in the same foster home for a few months, and they love to play, nap, and watch bird and fish TV together. They are both an absolute joy to foster and will make their future adopters so happy!

Both Leotie and Flounder are tripods. A Good Samaritan brought Leotie to VEG ER for Pets with a serious injury to one of her limbs. Turns out, Leotie had an old left hip luxation, and her left back leg was amputated. Flounder had a traumatic injury to his left brachial plexus, and his front left leg was amputated. They have both healed up well and get around like any other kitten their age.

Leotie and Flounder have become very comfortable with the dogs in their foster home. These are senior dogs who are very cat-friendly and gentle.

March 2026 update: Leotie is a sweet girl who loves to snuggle in your blankets and likes to be picked up and kissed. She is not as outwardly affectionate as her brother, but purrs just as loud, if not louder, when you give her snuggles (though they have to be on her terms). She is very vocal and has the most adorable squeak whenever she wants attention, although sometimes you'll hear her growl at her brother, especially if he just got home from the vet.

She is a little more cautious and shy- one could say she's a sensitive soul. She can be scared off easily and will run in the other direction if you walk towards her too quickly, but will come right back when she realizes it's just her human. She isn't a huge fan of loud noises or aggressive pets- she is a gentle girl and likes being treated like a little lady. She will also steal a bite of your food off the plate, so be careful not to leave anything out for her furry paws to get hold of. She loves to play and is very fast, often chasing her brother around the house. Leotie is a sweet, slightly shy but ever so loving kitty, and when she warms up to you, she will give you all her snuggles. She is a curious kitty and will be found watching you do your skincare routine or under your feet while you cook.

Flounder is a loving, energetic, sweet boy who loves to cuddle as much as he loves to eat (a lot). He is the perfect cat for you if you have no need for personal space with your cat. He will wrap himself around your neck like a scarf, roll all over your chest, and nuzzle into your face, purring like a motorcycle. He loves to give nose licks to show his love. Despite having three legs, he is extremely fast and ready to jump and play. If he hears you sit on your bed, you will hear him running to the door to pounce onto the mattress at full speed.

Flounder is obsessed with food and will greedily shove his face into his sister's bowl mid-meal if he is done with his own (we recommend watching them for meals to redirect him if needed). He also loves human food and will sit on the table, inching closer and closer to the plate to steal a bite of whatever you are eating (or drinking), so be careful not to leave food/drinks unattended around this little thief. He is the most affectionate cat we have ever encountered by far. He also has big, wispy ears that make him a handsome cutie!

All kittens must be adopted with another kitten or into a home with another young cat with which he or she can play and socialize. The majority of no-kill rescues nationwide adhere to this policy. This policy is NOT based on a desire to increase our number of adoptions, rather it ensures that the kittens we rescue, nurture, and love are adopted into homes that offer the best possible environment for their social development.

For more information on this policy:
www.adoptapet.com/blog/how-to-cure-only-kitten-syndrome/

For more information and pictures, go to our website: http://www.ppahrescue.org/adoptable-pets/

To submit an adoption application online: http://www.ppahrescue.org/adoptapp/

If you cannot adopt, please share to help Leotie and Flounder find a "furrever" home.

To make a donation via PayPal, USPS, or one of our current campaigns; to provide an item from our Amazon Wish List, or to sponsor an animal, please do so here: http://www.ppahrescue.org/donation/

All animals are already spayed/neutered, FIV/FeLV tested negative, micro-chipped, de-wormed and have all necessary shots. They are ready to go to a loving home. Adoption fee is $175.00 each.

If you have any questions, please email Admin@PPAHrescue.org.

Thank you.

Precious Pets Almost Home Association's Adoption Policy
Please help our homeless pets in need by adopting from Precious Pets Almost Home. All of our cats and dogs are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, de-wormed, flea-treated, up to date on vaccines and treated for ear mites. Cats are tested for FIV/Leukemia. Dogs are Heartworm tested. Our modest adoption fee is $175.00 for cats and $400.00 for dogs (unless otherwise noted). Some purebred cats or dogs may have a higher adoption fee. Please understand that the higher adoption fee for certain purebred animals allows us to rescue more animals and it is still much, much less than what you would pay a breeder or pet store! Adopter is contractually bound to return their adopted animal to PPAH if for any reason the adoption does not work out. We do not return adoption donations after 14 days. If animals are adopted together, they must be returned together. We do not adopt single kittens into homes with no other pets, namely cats. This policy is in the best interest of the cats in our care and is shared by many rescue groups nationwide. Applicant must demonstrate the ability and commitment to provide proper care, exercise and vetting for the lifetime of the pet. PPAH reserves the right to approve or decline any adoption applications that do not meet the organization's adoption criteria, as determined at its' sole discretion. PPAH is a foster-based non-profit rescue run solely by volunteers. The application process can take a few days with the verification of vetting, residency, and references. We appreciate your patience. For more on our policies visit our website www.ppahrescue.org/adoption-info/
