Leonie's Story

Leonie originally came into rescue when she was found by a good Samaritan and brought to Anchorage Animal Care and Control with a suspected burn wound on her neck. She may have been trying to find warmth from a tailpipe or an engine, as both of her ear tips also appear to be frostbitten. Leonie recovered fully and was adopted into a loving home until her pet parent could no longer care for her. She is affectionate, and loves to cuddle up with her people. She will snuggle on a lap, under the covers, or on top of the covers. Leonie is a polydactyl kitty and has extra toes, which will need regular trims. She will need to be an indoor only kitty where she can be treated as a family member and kept safe and never have to worry about a cold, hungry night again. She is curious and athletic, she enjoys exploring heights and watching birds and squirrels from a window. She gets along with other cats but prefers people over cats. Please contact Carol at at 345-2096 or kkcalaska@gmail.com if you'd like to meet this gorgeous gal!

There is an adoption fee of $120.00 for adult cats and home visits may be required. If you reside outside the local area there are some different requirements. Personal referrals, a vet referral, an agreement to be responsible for transportation (both ways if necessary) and a commitment to returning the pet to Kitty and K-9 if the placement does not work or your situation changes where you cannot keep the pet. Depending on the circumstances, there may be other requirements as well. Our commitment is to the homeless animals we rescue; we devote tons of love, time, energy and money to their rescue, medical bills and care. Our goal is to find them the very best placement with a lifetime commitment.
