Leo's Story

Thrown out of their home and heartlessly separated from their mother at just five weeks old, this group of five tiny kittens survived a heartbreaking ordeal no animal should ever face. Left to fend for themselves in a yard littered with cut-down trees, they were found starving, weak, and scattered — some trapped under brush, others barely hanging on.

Thankfully, a kind-hearted neighbor heard their cries for help and rushed them to Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue, where they received the lifesaving care, nourishment, and love they so desperately needed. Despite their tragic beginning, these kittens have blossomed into affectionate, trusting, and playful little loves, thanks to a lot of patience, care, and snuggles.

Meet the fighters of this remarkable litter:

Leia — A tortoiseshell beauty with a survivor’s heart, Leia was found barely clinging to life after eating tree bark in desperation. She was heartbreakingly ill, but with round-the-clock care, this sweet girl has come back stronger than ever. Leia is tender, gentle, and loves nothing more than curling up in your arms for comfort.

Leilani — This dainty little girl gave us quite a scare. Barely half a pound and refusing to eat, Leilani needed every ounce of love and care we could give — and she responded with a quiet strength. Today, Leilani is thriving, sweet-natured, and always up for a soft snuggle.

Leo — Our orange and white tabby boy is a true fighter. Though he seemed stronger at first, Leo suddenly crashed days later and needed emergency care. He fought his way back and is now a purring, affectionate love bug who melts in your arms. His brave spirit is matched only by his sweet, playful heart.

Leyland — This handsome dark orange tabby is the cuddlebug of the group. Leyland came around quickly with a healthy appetite and a heart full of love. He adores snuggling, being close to people, and showing off his beautiful swirled coat.

Leighton — The leader of the pack, Leighton is brave, curious, and always the first to explore. But beneath his confident nature is a soft snuggler who loves attention and lap time. His outgoing personality makes him a perfect companion.

Despite everything they endured, this litter remains incredibly affectionate, trusting, and full of joy. Their resilience is inspiring, and their love for people shines through in everything they do. These kittens are now ready for forever homes where they’ll never be neglected or unloved again.

If you’re looking for a pair of sweethearts — or even a whole bundle of love — these five are ready to fill your home with purrs, cuddles, and endless gratitude.

We have dozens of cats and kittens available! All our adoptable cats are located at the Frisky Cat Cafe in St Augustine. 1092 Ponce De Leon Blvd (US 1). Visiting the cafe is a great way to find your perfect kitty. All of our cats and kittens are socialized and happy to interact with visitors, so you will meet them with their true personalities.
