Meet Leia, a sweet cat with a truly unusual story. She and her four kittens were discovered wandering near a creek by a busy freeway, unsure of what they were doing. Leia, hungry and scared, climbed up the leg of the person who found her, desperately seeking food. It was obvious that she and her kittens had been abandoned, as no one in the neighborhood recognized them. The kittens clung to Leia for comfort and safety, clearly seeing her as their mom. <br/><br/>Her rescuer brought them to the shelter, but due to space limitations, only Leia’s youngest kitten was taken in, as they were the most adoptable. The others were recommended for TNR and sadly returned to the dangerous creek.<br/><br/>Leia’s foster home has been a ticking clock. Despite her charm, multiple potential adopters have ghosted her and her litter. Fortunately, Leia is adaptable and loves having the run of the house. She’s friendly, playful, and outgoing, but it's clear that being confined to a kennel is taking a toll on her. She’s becoming more withdrawn each day and needs a loving home where she can thrive.
