Leandra's Story

5 year old Leandra is a beautiful tabby girl who was originally part of a TNR effort but she’s decided that indoor life is more her style. She’s become rather fond of predictable feeding times , a climate controlled atmosphere and having no worries of the hazards of outdoor living . Leandra currently resides in our feral room but has always been somewhat receptive to humans at her discretion .

Leandra will rub up against you when she’s feeling comfortable, letting you know she’s open to connection... just don’t rush her. She’s not a traditional “lap cat,” but she does seek attention in her own way when she’s ready.

Leandra does have some quirky boundaries that her future home will need to understand. She would do best in a home without children or elderly individuals. She can be a bit unpredictable—one moment she may be snuggling your leg, and the next she may swat if she feels uncomfortable . We’ve noticed she’s much more at ease when she’s on the floor approaching you on her terms. If she feels cornered or if you reach up to pet her say on a tall cat tree, or some other vertical shelf/space she’s nestled into, she may swat with claws. When she’s below you and in control of the interaction, she’s much more relaxed and affectionate.

Because of this, Leandra is looking for a patient, cat-savvy home that will respect her space, learn her cues, and give her the time she needs to truly settle in.

Come meet Leandra during our adoption hours:
Saturdays: 10 AM – 1 PM
Sundays: 4 PM – 6 PM
197 Middle Rd., Acushnet, MA 02743
