Leaf's Story

I don’t know how many of you are familiar with The Warrior Cats book series. If you have preteen or young teen girls or granddaughters, you’ve probably heard something about them. All the cats in the story are named after something in nature.

Well, in early August, we got a call from the Lancaster Animal Shelter. They rescued three female four-week-old kittens from a Tractor Supply bucket. We are calling their birthday July 4, which will be easy to remember. These brave little warriors were skinny and needed a bath, but were already eating wet food and were otherwise doing well.

With three kittens in a litter, we always hope at least two will be adopted together, which is what happened in early October. But it has been fun having Leaf by herself for a bit. She is completely litter trained, so she is out of the foster area and exploring both levels of our house. She is healthy, playful, and affectionate. She sleeps in bed with us at night, and is definitely a lap cat ready for a forever lap. Leaf is perfectly behaved with our two older rescue cats and will do well with active children, an active older cat, or with a cat-friendly dog.

Our adoption fee is $150 and covers FIV/FeLV testing, deworming, vaccinations, and spay/neuter with a partner clinic. To set up a visit, drop me a note at cherylsferalsandfosters@gmail.com or PM me. If you are considering adopting, please fill out and submit the adoption contract found in The Adoption Process link on my website (cherylsferalsandfosters.com). In the meantime, you can follow their journey on Facebook: Cheryl’s Ferals and Fosters Chat Group. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3).
