Meet Laverne

*Please note- Pre-applying for the dog/cat you are interested in will speed up your adoption process*

Due to Laverne's initial timidness she does not attend events. But she is doing great in her foster home and truly loves her people. We are happy to schedule a private meet and greet with preapproved applicants.

Laverne is a beautiful gal who happens to be our longest kitty resident! She is hoping to find a family to love her very soon! She had a rough start to life - her and her kitty friend were abandoned together, both pregnant. Her friend and their kittens have all been adopted and now Laverne is ready for a fresh start in a quiet, adult only home. Because of her past, she tends to be a bit shy at first. After just a little sweet talk and gentle love and patience, she learns to trust her people! Once you’ve won her over, she just wants all of your attention! She gets excited when she sees her people, loves being pet, rolling around, and tummy rubs! Give her a toy mouse and she will run around and play for hours! She’s still getting used to being picked up, it’s not her favorite yet! She would love a nice window seat to sunbathe in and a cat tree to relax in. Please consider adopting this lovely little lady! *Please note*Laverne is FIV Positive. With good care, FIV cats tend to live normal lives and do not require extra care. Read more info on FIV below. Her DOB is 4/8/19.
*Please read info from Seattle Humane on FIV positive cats -
FIV is transmitted from one cat to another by deep puncture wounds. It is NOT spread by casual contact. (In other words, kitties can’t catch FIV from grooming each other, sharing food bowls, sharing a litterbox, etc.) Unneutered males are most at risk for catching FIV since they are more likely to fight with other kitties. Studies have shown that friendly, altered FIV-positive cats are highly unlikely to spread the virus to other kitties in the home. When introducing FIV-positive and FIV-negative kitties, make sure you give them a careful, slow introduction to prevent any serious fighting or biting. *

The adoption fee for a Laverne is $109 and includes spay/neuter, Microchip, pyrantel deworming, Frontline flea treatment and routine vaccinations (excluding rabies). Due to COVID-19 we have had to change our system for the handling of adoptions.
