After the death of her human mom her Aunt came to take care of her and her sister Shirley. She lived a long ways away and needed to find a home for the sisters. Her human mom was very scared about bringing her to a rescue as her sister loved the two very much. She had taken care of them for a while and did not want anything bad to happen. She brought them to the rescue for us to care for and after receiving a tour said I am so happy that your rescue is like a home not an institution. Laverne is very timid and shy and usually hangs out inside a cubby. She will not seek attention but if you give it to her she enjoys it.
