Laurence's Story

Did you ever go through an awkward stage? Would you appreciate an awkward kitty? Because Laurence might be your perfect match!

Laurence is a solidly large house panther who loves people. He enjoys sitting near you, purring at an absurd volume the second you pet him, and occasionally staring into space like he’s buffering. He’s playful and enthusiastic, wand toys are a favorite, although he may steal one and run down the stairs to continue the game solo.

He’s friendly and social with humans but endearingly awkward with other cats. He tries to play, doesn’t quite understand boundaries, gets rebuffed, and then simply loaf-sits nearby like, “Okay then.” It’s all part of his endearing, slightly strange charm.

Laurence has been through a lot. He was found with an extensive leg wound that took months to heal, and once healthy enough, he had full-mouth extractions to address severe dental disease. He does take a couple of daily medications, and here’s the good news: he eagerly takes pills straight from you in a pill pocket or liquid meds mixed into his food. Zero drama.

One of his favorite moves? Sitting sphynx-style on the floor, making eye contact, and hoping you’ll call him over, at which point he’ll happily trot over to jump onto the couch to keep you (and your guests) company.

If you appreciate an awkward weirdo, you’ll be rewarded with a companion who provides laughs, loud purrs, silly faces, and very sincere looks of love.

Estimated DOB: 5/15/22

Turn up the sound and check out Laurence purring: https://youtube.com/shorts/QjZkI0RYGf4?feature=share
