Laureli's Story

My name is Laureli. I am a stunningly beautiful dilute torti. I am the mysterious member of the Russel l and Laureli bonded duo. I am shy and independent. I can often be found instructing Russel l in the fine art of securing sunbeams in place. I am a master birdwatcher. My foster tells me she can see me calculating moves that will allow me to meet the birds and squirrels that visit the feeders. They look like they would make great playmates. If only the window glass did not get in the way. I like high places and can often be found observing my worshippers from atop a cabinet. I love treats. I like soft pats while bird watching . My favorite times of day are when my foster is going to sleep and waking up. I help her sleep / wake up by cuddling and making biscuits. I always tell my foster to bring lots of different wand toys to bed so I can have a varierty of toys to play with when she wakes up. I do not like to be picked up. I cannot be adopted without Russel l. We are bonded for life. Home visit required. Approx DOB 03/12/2023 I have my vetting done! FHS has different adoptable cats there all weekend & adoption counselors on site to help, from Noon - 4 p.m. Interested in one of our cats/dogs? First step it to fill out the required adoption application. We do not adopt to anyone living outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. All our cats/dogs will be spayed/neutered, heart worm tested (dogs-age appropriate), FeLV/FIV test (cats), microchipped, and current on vaccinations. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We review all applications received to ensure that the animal and the applicant are a good match based on our personal experiences with the animal. These animals live in foster homes with us, so we are familiar with their habits and behaviors. Home visits may be required prior to adoption approval. Frisco Humane Society's Adoption Policy

All our cats and dogs live in foster homes so we do not have a shelter or visiting hours. Our animals can be seen at the Frisco Petsmart by appointment. In order to adopt one of our cats or dogs, you will be asked to complete an adoption application which you can do online at any time. Adoption approval requires that your current pets must be spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations. If you've completed an application online, it will be forwarded to the animal’s foster parent and they will contact you within 24 hours or sooner. Please be patient, we are all volunteers and most of us have full-time jobs as well as family responsibilities and activities to consider. If you do not receive a response within 24 hours, please send an email to fhspet@gmail.com We do not adopt on a first-come first-served basis. We review all applications received to ensure that the animal and the applicant are a good match based on our personal experiences with the animal. These animals live in our homes with us so we are familiar with habits and behaviors. In order to adopt a dog, you must permit a home visit from one of our volunteers. For this reason we do not adopt to homes beyond a reasonable driving distance of the foster home. If you have questions about whether you are within driving distance before completing an application, you can send us an email. Be sure and include the name of the dog you wish to adopt and the name of your city. Dogs - we do not perform onsite adoptions. We review applications and contact applicants as soon as possible. The dog/puppy adoption fee is $165.00 plus tax. A Meet and Greet may be set up after the adoption application is completed. Cats - May be adopted at the Frisco PetSmart with approved application by appointment. The cat/kitten adoption fee is $135.00 plus tax. The adoption fee includes the following medical care for the animal prior to adoption: •Rabies Vaccination* •Viral Vaccinations* •Deworming •Canine Heartworm Test / Feline Leukemia and FIV Test •Heartworm Treatment (if necessary) •Spaying or Neutering •Microchip *Age appropriate at the time of adoption
