Lana's Story
Ms Lana came to us in early May and had a litter of 6 babies within 48 hours. Upon going to the vet, we learned that Lana is FIV positive. Some folks think that means they should be euthanized immediately, or that they're high risk. In truth, with more modern understanding and data, transmission of FIV between friendly cats is actually quite low. All it means is that her immune system is lower than a normal kitty. Regardless, she needs to be an inside kitty and kept up to date on her vaccinations.

Her surviving kittens have all grown up to be gorgeous babies and have all been adopted. Ms Lana is currently in a foster home to keep her in a lower stress environment. She's chatty and affectionate and is a real great gal overall.

Now that she has been cleared for surgery, she will be going on our next clinic visit for spay. She is UTD on her rabies and FVRCP vaccines and is ready to find a comfortable home to lounge around in and chat with you about your day. Let us know if you'd like to meet this gal to ensure she's in the shelter when you stop by!
