Lady Leap's Story
ABOUT LADY LEAP

Meet Lady Leap, our guarded little lady. This quiet girl came to HAP as a very terrified stray, who had clearly been in survival mode for her entire life. It would be easier if she could tell us her past, but we could piece together that she had never known the comforts that so many take for granted. No soft beds, no warm home, no gentle touches, no love at all. Because of this, she has had her walls up with us for a while now, despite our continued efforts. We can see that she wants love and craves affection, but some past trauma or fear is holding her back from becoming the sweet girl we know she is. While in her foster home, after months of dedicated care and patience, she would seek out her human friends for attention, though she was always a little unsure if she was allowed to ask for affection.
We know she deserves all the softness the world can offer, but we also know it will take a special person to be willing to give her that. She will take time to learn to trust, and more time to learn to love. But we believe in the end, she will be worth every ounce of effort.

*Lady Leap does best with a calm kitty friend, preferably one who will show her that humans are friends. We don't recommend she go to a home with dogs or children.

*If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.
