Lady Elaine's Story
Meet Lady Elaine Fairchild!

Looking for a petite princess with a sweet personality? Meet Lady Elaine Fairchild—or "Laney" to her friends. This little one-year-old “catten” has already had an incredible journey of survival and recovery. Right after we rescued Laney from the street, we discovered that she had a very painful mastitis infection after nursing kittens, and at the time of her spay, the doctor found that she had recently miscarried a second pregnancy. Thankfully, she made a complete recovery and is enjoying the good life indoors to the fullest.

Laney LOVES being pet, almost any time of the day or night. She will flop down on the floor for belly rubs, and hop up to bump her head against your hand for pets. She may not be a lap cat for now, but she doesn’t mind being picked up and carried around so with time that very well may change! She’s more of a “hang out beside you on the couch” kinda girl for now!

Laney plays with silly kitten-like energy, chasing her tail, rolling on her back and stomach, standing on her hind legs to reach wand toys (sometimes she gets so excited she falls backwards!). Her favorite toys are a bouncing ping-pong ball, which she chases wildly, and a tennis ball that she bats back and forth like she's playing hockey!

We recommend starting Laney off in one small room where she can feel safe and secure as she adjusts to her new life. But after an adjustment period, Laney will be the cat who greets you at the door, looking for love. She is affectionate, but also will give you space. So far, the kitties in her foster home haven’t been welcoming to her. She has preferred to be separated from them. If Laney’s new home has kittens or a young, low-key cat looking for a playmate, she would likely do well, but would also be happy in a home where she could be the only cat getting attention from her humans! We think a home with adults or older children who can respect her space and let her set the pace would be ideal.

Lady Elaine is a fighter with so much love to give. She's spayed, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, FIV/FeLV negative, and vaccinated. This little warrior deserves a family who will cherish her resilient spirit and help her write the next beautiful chapter of her story.

* To apply for Lady Elaine, please visit our website to view our adoption guidelines and fill out our application at catcallsrescue.org/adopt *
