Lady Duchess's Story

Meet Lady Duchess, a quiet, gentle girl who is just waiting for the right person to help her feel safe and loved.

Lady Duchess is about 2.5 years old and has a soft, observant personality. She’s a shy girl, but beneath that she’s a sweet cat whose personality slowly shines through as she becomes more comfortable.

Lady hides most of the time, but every now and then she ventures out to explore the house, quietly sits on the bed while her foster brother does homework, or watches his pet turtle with curiosity. This sweet girl is slowly starting to come out of her shell.

Lady has been through more than most cats should. She was dumped on the streets as a kitten, found pregnant, and brought to a shelter, where she sadly lost her babies. At the shelter, she was so frightened that she hid in the back of her cage. She was adopted by a couple who hadn’t read her notes, and after a month of hiding, they tried to return her. With the shelter full, she was rehomed—only to nearly be given up again shortly after, simply because she was scared.

Lady Duchess needs a calm home with a patient family who will give her the time and space she needs to come out of her shell at her own pace and learn that she is safe. She would do best as the only pet in the home or with other calm cats who will respect her space.

Please email us at ATXcatsdogs@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting Lady Duchess.
