Lady Duchess's Story
Meet Lady Duchess! A 2-year-old sweetheart who loves cuddles and sunbeams.

Lady is a quiet, observant little cat with a heart full of love — she’s just waiting for someone who can earn her trust. About 2 years old, she is the kind of companion who will slowly come out of her shell with gentle care and a peaceful home.

Lady Duchess has already been through more than most cats should. Dumped on the streets as a kitten, found pregnant, and taken to the Austin Animal Center, this sweet girl started life scared and unsure of the world. At the shelter, Lady was so frightened she hid in the back of her cage. She was adopted by a couple who hadn’t read her notes — and after a month of hiding, they tried to return her. With the shelter full, she was rehomed again... only to be given up a week later for the same reason.

She’s looking for a home that she can finally call her own, give her time and you’ll discover her favorite things: sunbathing near the window, watching her foster brother's turtle, and curling up nearby once she feels safe. Her progress has beautiful to witness — every day she has been trusting humans more and more, specially her young human foster brother.

Lady Duchess would do best in a calm environment, ideally with an experienced cat lover or a patient adopter who understands that love takes time. She's good with other calm cats and may even benefit from having a confident feline friend to show her the ropes.

Spayed | Vaccinated | Microchipped | Indoor only
-
Located in Austin, TX.
Apply to adopt Lady Duchess: [ATXcatsdogs@gmail.com]
See more on IG and Facebook: @AustinCatsAndDogsRescue
