Kurtis's Story

This is Kurtis, but you can call him Kurt. Kurt joined our volunteer's TNVR colony in Niagara Falls in November. As it got colder out, Kurt did not appear to be taking shelter in any of the cat houses. He would huddle up against her house, waiting for her to open the door to see if he could come in. She knew that Kurt was a little bit different from the others right away; she was immediately able to pick him up and pet him. After temperatures began to drop and Kurt survived a bad wind storm, she made the decision to help him. This decision changed Kurt's life.

Although Kurt has had life a bit rough, he's the most gentle, sweet soul. He likes a quiet environment and soft, slow pets. Kurt would love nothing more than to spend his days sleeping in windowsills and sunspots, looking out windows, and sleeping on fluffy beds and blankets.

Kurt is a quiet and cuddly boy who is ready for a peaceful life indoors. He is just thankful to have food, water, and be warm. He also loves wand toys. He would do very well in a quiet and calm house with somebody who could give him a lot of lap time. He is quite the lap cat (perhaps a perfect cat for an avid reader)!

Kurt is neutered, vaccinated, and great with the litter box. Kurt is FIV positive, but don’t let that scare you. FIV is a feline specific retrovirus that cannot be transmitted to humans or dogs. It can be transmitted to other cats but primarily through deep bite wounds. Because FIV is not transmittable between spayed/neutered cats under normal circumstances, FIV+ cats can groom, play with, snuggle and share food/water bowls with other cats in their adoptive homes.

Additionally, FIV+ cats, like Kurt, live long, healthy, normal cat lives when living indoors and provided with loving care such as a balanced diet of quality cat food and yearly wellness vet visits (like any cat).

To meet Kurt, please submit an application.

Directions to Cat by Cat’s Application Form:
-Scroll down and click on the “Visit Our Profile Page” button
-Click on “Adoption Application”
-Complete the inquiry for Cat by Cat Inc. on Jotform
-Once completed, the form will automatically go to Cat by Cat Inc. and you will receive a confirmation screen
-An adoption specialist will review the completed form and then reach out to you.

We appreciate your patience as we get back to you, we are an all-volunteer organization.
