Kurt and Gita's Story

Meet Gita and Kurt, a spayed female and neutered male born approximately July 20, 2025. They are approximately 6 months old.

Gita is a mini panther, and Kurt is a solid smoke grey color.

Both have adorable splayed feet that don't slow them down at all. They were born stray and have spent the past 2 months in foster care learning how to be house cats. They have made progress, but are still very shy and not ready to be touched. They need an adopter who understands cat behavior, can read body language, and is willing to let trust build on their terms.

They are play-oriented and quite willing to lick Churu off your fingers. Kurt thinks laser-pointer and especially bird-wand play are a fantastic time. Gita loves to watch the action and will get involved when she's warmed up.

Important to know: At meet-and-greets, Kurt and Gita won’t present as “sweet” or cuddly right away. They need an adopter who can see past first impressions, respect their pace, and let them blossom over time.

They've been fostered in a home with, but physically separated from, two resident cats, so they’re not familiar with other animals aside from mom and siblings.

What Kurt and Gita are looking for in a home:

- They are new to indoor life with humans, so they need a kind and patient guide to help them continue adjusting. Loud noises, fast movements, and strangers can make them nervous.
- They can get nervous, so they need a kind and patient guide to help them feel comfortable with new experiences.
- They’ll need extra time and TLC to build trust.
- They have lots of kitten of energy and will benefit from plenty of active play time.
- They feel at ease in a quiet and calm environment.
- They need to live indoors only.
- They have no known history with other cats
- They have no known history with dogs
- They need an adult-only home

All Alley Cat Project’s cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Thank you for your interest in Kurt and Gita!
