Kramer available through our Foster to Adopt Program's Story
Kramer's story began on the streets, where he was first spotted struggling to survive on his own. Much of his fur was missing, a quiet sign of how tough life had been for him. He wasn't the cat anyone had gone out looking for that day. In fact, the rescuer had been called to help another cat entirely. But once Kramer appeared, it was clear there was no way he could be left behind.

He was taken in by a local grassroots cat welfare organization that saw what he truly was beneath his rough exterior: a cat who deserved safety, care and a second chance. From there, Kramer began a long journey of healing. With proper medical care, patience and kindness, his body started to recover and so did his spirit.

Kramer spent several months in a loving foster home, where he discovered what it means to live indoors with a family. Soft beds replaced cold pavement. Regular meals replaced uncertainty. Gentle voices and caring hands taught him that comfort and security were not things he had to earn. Rather, they were simply part of life now.

Over time, Kramer blossomed. He learned to relax, to trust and to enjoy the quiet joys of indoor living. His past shaped him, but it does not define him. Today, Kramer stands as a testament to resilience and compassion, a former street cat who found his way into warmth, safety and love all because someone couldn't walk away when they saw him.

His friendly demeanor and cuddly nature make him the perfect companion for any cat lover. He is a sweet soul, always ready to snuggle up and purr away the day. A connoisseur of chin scratches, Kramer will make you feel loved and appreciated with his affectionate purrs. He's the kind of cat who will make your house feel like a home, bringing warmth and joy wherever he goes. Kramer is looking for a loving family who can return his boundless affection in a home without dogs. Adopting Kramer means gaining a loyal friend who will fill your life with sweetness and love.

Kramer has tested FIV+, but don't let that worry you. Cats with FIV can live long, healthy lives. FIV cannot be spread to dogs or people. FIV cats can live with friendly non-FIV cats as the disease is typically spread through deep bite wounds seen in cats living outside fighting for scarce resources. Kramer gets along well with other feline-friendly cats.

Kramer is available for adoption through our Foster to Adopt Program. This means that Kramer can go home with the right person as a foster on a trial basis for a pre-determined length of time to see if he is in fact the perfect fit for the adopter's home. At the end of the trial period, if both parties agree, Kramer's temporary foster placement would transition officially into his adoptive home. Please email his adoption consultant at arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com to set up a meet and greet or to ask for further details.

The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!
