Koza's Story
Koza may have a rough and tough exterior, but deep down, he is a shy and scared boy who has never known the comfort of a safe home and the love of a caring family.

We welcomed Koza, a former feral, from one of our partner shelters on the island. Understandably, he was scared and a bit spicy when he first arrived, but slowly, he is starting to see that he is in a safe and loving space with our volunteers. Koza no longer lashes out, but may run and hide when feeling anxious. He is on a healing journey that will take time; however, we are starting to see him slowly opening up and allowing us to be part of his world, even allowing the occasional gentle pet.

Koza gets along well with his shelter mates and would benefit from having another mellow cat buddy for companionship and comfort. He is a snooze enthusiast and an expert at finding the coziest, quietest nap hideouts. He will need a calm, adult-only home with patient adopters who understand that it will take some time to build trust and form a connection. However, we know Koza has the potential to form that special bond! Aside from being blind in one eye, he is a healthy 5 year old boy and uses his litter box purrfectly.

Time and time again, we see that when given the chance and the right home, former feral cats like Koza, blossom into some of the most loving companions. From the first purr, the first nose boop, to the first time he chooses to sit beside you—these are truly priceless moments. We hope that Koza will have the opportunity to find a loving furrever family to create these special memories with.
