Kitty Kat's Story

Kitty Kat is a super fluffy calico who took some tome to adjust to her new environment. Understandably frightened at first, she started out quite defensive: hissing, growling, and swatting when her boundaries are crossed, and reacting to any close approach with alarm. After a few weeks in care, she’s come out of her shell and has come a long way!

She’s now super affectionate and cuddly with the people she trusts. She was very nervous at first but has now shown herself to be a total cuddle bug who, after that first pet, climbed into her fosters lap, rubbed her face all over her and had absolutely no interest in leaving.

She has also started to show interest in toys. When she first arrived, she would growl at them, but now she’s curious and playful, and has shown a preference for springs and wand toys.

She has been slowly introduced to the resident cat and so far she doesn’t seem too impressed. As new environments, other cats, and unfamiliar situations still make her nervous, it’s possible that with time, patience, and a gentle approach, she could learn to co-exist with another calm cat. She would also likely do best in a home without young children, as she can still get defensive if she’s startled or scared.
