Kitty and Olive's Story
Hi, our names are Kitty and Olive! We are RED pawprints, which means we need an experienced home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Kitty is shy but sweet, affectionate, playful. Olive is social, affectionate, easy-going, sweet, and sassy (but mostly sweet)
-Can Live with Cats: Yes, Kitty is bonded to Olive and it is required they be adopted as a pair. Introductions with any resident kitties should be slow and structured to ensure everyone gets along.
-Can Live with Dogs: No thanks, too scary!
-Can Live with Kids: Cat-savvy kids ages 14+
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Yes, has been indoor-only her whole life
-History of Litter Box Issues: No
-Energy Level: Medium
-Bite History: Olive has no history of biting and breaking skin, but he will bite if you touch his belly. DON'T TOUCH HIS BELLY!
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No
Additional Information:

Kitty and Olive are an adorable bonded pair looking for their forever home!

Kitty is super duper affectionate when she's comfortable, but it can take a while before she feels safe. She will probably need a bit of an adjustment period in her new home before she shows her true personality (i.e., she may hide under the bed for a while and/or keep her distance until she's ready). Once settled, Kitty is social and loves to be pet according to her previous owner. Kitty and Olive would do best with a cat-experienced person/family who can respect their boundaries and let them adjust at their own pace.

Olive is the more confident of the two and makes his friend Kitty feel safer just by being there for her. He is social and friendly, but does have some boundaries. Olive DOES NOT like it when you touch his belly and he wil let you know by biting you. These bites do not break skin, but they can be pretty hard. The best way to not feel Olive's wrath is to...you guessed it...NOT TOUCH HIS BELLY. If you respect this one simple rule, everything will be fine. Olive would do best with a cat-experienced adopter/family who can read his signals and respect his boundaries. Besides that one little quirk, Olive is a super duper good boy who is going to make a wonderful companion.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
