Friends of Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy

Friends of Animal Rescue has all potential adopters fill out an adoption application, which includes information about you, your household, references, vet info, etc. Please allow 2-3 business days for your application to be processed. If we have trouble getting in touch with references, landlords, vets, etc. the application may be delayed. Adoption fees are $85 for dogs, $25 for cats, and includes spay/neuter, vaccination, heartworm testing (treatment if necessary), and micro-chipping.

Our Mission

Friends of Animal Rescue was formed in 2010 to assist the City of Port Isabel when the City took control of the Isabel Y. Garcia Animal Shelter. After placing the shelter’s 400 animals, Friends refocused their efforts towards the animals on South Padre Island. We believe there is a home for each and every homeless animal. W...
