KISMET's Story

Hi there, I’m KISMET (DOB: ~05/30/2025), a handsome male Gray Tabby/White domestic short hair. If you look up the definition of my name, it means fate, implying a predetermined course of events. That makes perfect sense to me, as I was found, starving and wet, on a woman’s driveway, with no friends or family nearby. She already had a full family of foster kitties, including a mom and her kittens, so I was placed with another foster family, who was at the time foster free. Kismet, indeed! It was just me, two loud but kind rescue poodles, and a sassy, giant 10-year old black cat who wasn’t looking for any new friends (imagine that!). I had to learn to fit in, and I did so right away, elbowing myself into my foster mom’s lap, making cautious friends with the poodles, and reaching an agreement with the resident cat. And while I was a very brave and fearless fellow, I have to admit I felt a bit alone too, with no friends my own age or size. But then something wonderful happened - the foster family brought in a brother and sister duo named DINO and MARCY, and my world became a lot more fun. I love them both, with DINO being more rough and tumble, and MARCY being a bit quieter. What I did learn for sure is that I’d love a brother or sister to play with. I am neutered, up-to-date with vaccines, negative for Feline FIV/FeLV, dewormed, have received flea preventative, and am microchipped. My adoption fee is $150, but if you adopt me with either of my buddies, MARCY or DINO, our adoption fee together is $200.

Fancy Feline Rescue of the South, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
We do not do same-day meet-and greet adoptions without a previously approved Adoption Application. If you are interested in adopting, we ask that (1) you read over our Adoption Process (https://www.facebook.com/FancyFelineRescue/posts/pfbid02VQPgDKca62RNyd8THoXXcJBKX5G5rmgPYLMQqNLKAK6gDNxSjW3yCLD4bX1cCkfZl) and then (2) complete our online Adoption Application (https://FancyFelineRescue.org/adoptapp.htm). Please keep in mind that we have a Companion Cat Policy: Unless otherwise indicated, all cats under the age of 1 must go into a home with another cat/kitten. Obviously, some young adults not raised around other cats or with more independent personalities may be exceptions to those rules, but that is up to the discretion of the Rescue to assess that need and is not negotiable. Special prices are made for buddy adoptions. THIS IS IMPORTANT: Once you submit the application, the process usually takes about a week; however, if you do not provide us with complete, verifiable information on the application, the process can take longer. Please make sure that all information is complete, especially regarding vet information for all previous pets, and that you contact those vet offices to give them authorization to release any information on your pets to our Adoption Counselor. Please note that by completing the Application, it in no way obligates either you or Fancy Feline Rescue of the South. It will, however, give us a chance to do a bit of “homework.” When we begin processing the Application, our Adoption Counselor, Fran Jackson (franjackson@earthlink.net), will contact you either by phone or email, so please keep an eye on your spam email folder in case an email from her happens to end up in your spam email! If we do not receive a response from you within 7-10 days regarding any questions we may have concerning your Application, we will file it away as “no response,” and move forward with the next application. Also please note that we consider Applications on a best home, first come, first served basis. We have suspended our normally scheduled twice-monthly meet-and-greet events and we do not have a public facility. We do, however, set appointments to conduct adoptions for those who have approved Applications.
