Meet Kion! <br/>Kion is a beautiful 2 year old brown tabby whose story will break your heart.<br/>He came to us showing behavior patterns and signs of a cat that was abused. He was often fearful of sudden noises, and terrified by hands. He would lash out in defense when it would approach him, sometimes to where he may try to bite out of fear. Aside from his fearful behavior when he first came to rescue, he also has a severe lack of grooming. He had an extreme urine odor and such terrible marring on his back, he had to be bathed immediately and shaved. With such short fur, it breaks our hearts to see how terrible his living conditions were to where his fur began to matte. Although Kion went into rescue as an adult cat, this poor boy didn't know how to use toys, or even knew how to play, something he was desperately trying to figure out. <br/>Fast-forward 4 months:<br/>Kion is thriving in foster care. It took him about a month before he finally learned how to play, but you should see him now. He is a very athletic and talented guy who loves interactive play. He has mastered the art of chasing balls: jumps into the air to catch them, bats them and even fetches. His fur is luxurious now and he likes to be groomed. Although he is not a lap cat yet, he wants to be picked up and carried around the house like a baby (on his terms, of course). It is still best to keep hands away from his head, but he is re-gaining trust in humans and enjoys having visitors come to the house. He is an alpha male and showed dominance with another cat in the foster home. It may be best for him to be the only cat in the household, but he would not thrive in a home where he is left alone for extended periods. <br/>We know Kion is an absolute catch, but we want to ensure he is in the best home we can find for him. Kion's ideal home would be a home that is predictably and safe. Constant move and change would not benefit him our sweet Kion. It would also be ideal to have Kion in a home with no younger kids, but older/mature kids will work great! And last but not least, a home where patience, love, forgiveness, and kindness is understood and granted to Kion.
