Kildare's Story

Meet Kildare, a handsome long-haired gray kitten with a soft coat and an even softer heart. He arrived with his brother Kilkenny, and while Kildare is on the shy side, he's definitely the more adventurous of the two--think "willing to cross the county line," emotionally speaking. New situations may make him pause for a moment, but give him a little time and patience and he'll warm up faster than a cozy pub on a rainy Irish afternoon.

Once Kildare gets comfortable, his sweet personality really shines. He enjoys gentle affection, quiet companionship, and will happily settle in near you like he's found his forever home base in County Kildare itself. He's the kind of kitten who doesn't rush things--he prefers to Kildare-fully consider his options before diving in.

Kildare would do best in a calm home where he can build confidence at his own pace, possibly with his brother or another friendly cat to show him the ropes. If you're looking for a charming, fluffy companion who just needs a little time to come out of his shell, Kildare might just be the luck of the Irish you've been waiting for. 🍀

Find me at Annie's Attic on 1560 Main St!

D'Arcy's Animal Rescue Centre's Adoption Policy
Connecting the right pets with the right families If you come to D'Arcy's A.R.C. to adopt a pet, you will be asked many questions to ensure that the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home and that you are prepared for the responsibilities and commitment of pet ownership. This discussion can go several ways. We may agree that the pet you are considering is an excellent match for your lifestyle, and lucky to have met you. We may suggest that you select a pet more suited to the home environment you will provide, or we may determine that you cannot take on the responsibilities and commitment of pet ownership at this time. Suppose you want to adopt a special needs pet with a physical condition or behavioural issues requiring extra care. In that case, we will ask that you fill out an application form. Our shelter manager will review this application form to ensure that you are aware of the cat's needs and the potential costs involved and can provide a suitable home. Potential adopters must provide a valid photo I.D. If you are leasing or renting a property for which the pet will call home, a copy of your leasing agreement that outlines that your home is pet-friendly is required. A letter or email signed by the landlord is also acceptable. All of our pets are spayed & neutered. Any kittens or puppies too young for the procedure at the time of adoption will have their spay/neuter paid for at our expense at our chosen veterinary clinic when they reach six months of age. Our cats all receive FVRCP vaccines, while all dogs receive DA2PP and Rabies. The adopter is responsible and must pay for any other medical treatments required after the adoption process. All adopted pets come with a care package, trial pet insurance, and a valid City of Winnipeg pet license for one year.
