Kiki's Story

Kiki was found by a previous Thistle Cat adopter after she came out from underneath a car in her apartment building parking lot. She was wet, disheveled, and incredibly hungry.

Her finder tried to welcome Kiki into her home with her resident cat, and she truly gave it every chance to work. After several weeks of slow introductions, enrichment, counseling and guidance from Thistle Cat, it became clear that the resident cat simply was not going to accept a new sister. Kiki was being bullied, hiding, and becoming afraid to come out and play.

So Kiki came to Thistle Cat, where she is now waiting for the loving, accepting family she deserves.

Kiki definitely falls into the category of "aggressively affectionate." Personal space? She has never heard of it. She wants to be right in your face, rubbing her cheeks all over you and making sure you leave covered in a little kitty spit.

She is unbelievably sweet and absolutely lives for attention. If you're looking for an independent cat who keeps to herself, Kiki is not your girl. But if you want a devoted lap companion who will attach herself to you like a tiny furry barnacle, she may be exactly what you're looking for.

She loves just about every toy she can get her paws on, and her hammock basket in the cat tree is one of her absolute favorite places to lounge.

For the first time in her young life, Kiki is ready to find a home where she can truly relax, play, and know that she belongs.

Thistle Cat Rescue & Sanctuary's Adoption Policy
See someone who catches your eye? 💙 The first step is to fill out our adoption application! We typically respond within 24 hours. If your application looks like a good match, we’ll reach out by phone for a quick chat and answer any questions you have about the cat you’re interested in. If the cat is being fostered off-site, we’ll connect you directly with their foster parent so you can learn more about their personality and routine. If everyone still feels like it could be a great fit, the next step is a meet and greet. We offer both in-person and virtual meet and greets! Once you’re ready to move forward, the cat will typically be brought to your home. We’ll do a quick home check to make sure everything is safe, including checking for unscreened windows, toxic plants, exposed wires curious kittens may want to chew, and other potential hazards. Then the exciting part begins: your 10-day foster-to-adopt period! 🐾 During those 10 days, we’ll check in by text to see how everyone is adjusting, especially if you’re introducing your new cat to existing pets. We’re always available to help with questions or introductions along the way. At the end of the 10 days, if everyone agrees it’s a match, we’ll send you a link to pay the adoption fee. You’ll then receive all medical records by email, and the cat’s microchip will be transferred into your name. And remember: every Thistle Cat always has a safety net. We will take any cat or kitten back for any reason, at any time. If an adoption is returned within 30 days, your adoption fee may be refunded in full or credited toward another Thistle Cat adoption. Have questions about our adoption process? Please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help make sure every adoption is the right fit for both you and your new family member. 💙🐱
