Ketanji's Story

Ketanji
Spayed female, 7 years old
Up to date on all vaccinations and completely healthy
Ketanji is a truly unique cat with a story that speaks to her resilience. She came to us during a large trapping effort at a trailer park that was scheduled to be completely leveled. No cats could be left behind. A few nights before the project was finished, Ketanji unexpectedly entered one of our traps. There were no known orange cats in the area, and we still don’t know where she originally came from.
When Ketanji was trapped, she was not spayed. Because of this, we have no way of knowing what her life was like before she found her way to us or whether she may have had many litters. Because the area was being destroyed, returning her was not an option.
Linda has poured her heart and soul into helping Ketanji feel safe and learn to trust. We have had her for about a year, and in that time she has grown into a wonderful cat. She does still have quirks, and we fully expect that she will need plenty of time and patience to warm up in a new home.
Ketanji is very neat, keeps her space clean, and is an easy cat to care for. She is shy until she truly knows someone, which can take time. She does not enjoy being held, but she does like being petted once she feels comfortable. She is okay with some cats, though she also needs time to adjust to them.
Ketanji has bonded deeply with Linda. As a rescuer, Linda cannot keep every cat she falls in love with — even though she truly wishes she could. We are looking for a calm, patient home that understands Ketanji will continue to blossom at her own pace.
Adoption fee: $50
Please email us to request an adoption application.
