Kerchak's Story

Kerchak has had a long and almost forgotten history -- he was found in a construction site with his brothers, Tarzan and Terk. Despite the situation, their kitty parents took great care of them until they were brought into our care.

They all started at a wonderful foster home where they grew to trust and were finally moved to one of our stores where they got to experience lots of new people -- and while still a little scared, they all won the hearts of our volunteers.
His brothers were adopted, one, and then the other, but Kerchak was still a bit timid and withdrawn, so was often overlooked.

He then started to develop strange sores on his muzzle and face... we took him to vet after vet and ran test after test, and no one could figure it out... through it all, he has patiently waited ... and weeks turned into months, into years... while we searched for answers. Eventually, the rescue director stumbled upon what may have been going on and confirmed it with the vet -- and it's just a simple allergy, easily managed and treated by a steroid shot if he has a reaction.

In the far too LONG amount of time it took to figure out what was wrong, he has become the sweetest, most cuddly, best big brother, and buddy to all the other foster cats he encounters.

He is ready and waiting for his forever home... with a heart of gold and years of loving needed, and long overdue.
