Keoto's Story

Keoto came to Revelation Gardens after he and a feline friend were found living behind our little shop on Main Street.

He’s always been a somewhat reserved boy. Keoto isn’t a lap cat and doesn’t generally seek out physical affection, but over the years we’ve watched him become increasingly comfortable simply being present with his people.

His journey hasn’t always been easy.

After Revelation Gardens moved to a new location, Keoto went through a period when he began urinating and defecating outside the litter box. We tried to understand what was causing it, but there was never an obvious answer. Eventually, just as unexpectedly as the behavior began, it stopped.

Later, we noticed Keoto’s tongue beginning to stick out and took him to our veterinarian. We discovered that he had significant dental disease and ultimately needed to have all of his teeth removed.

We don’t know whether the discomfort from his mouth contributed to the behavioral changes we’d seen earlier, but we do know something important:

Keoto seems to feel much better now.

He’s sweeter, more relaxed and comfortable being out where life is happening rather than hiding away. He continues to use his litter box appropriately and is doing very well without his teeth.

Keoto’s favorite place is the catio, where he spends much of his day enjoying the outdoors from the safety of an enclosed space. And if you really want to win him over, there’s one thing you should know:

Keoto loves his squeezable treats.

He gets half of one in the morning and the other half in the afternoon, and as far as Keoto is concerned, this may be the most important part of the daily schedule. He eats both wet and dry cat food despite having no teeth, although neither seems to inspire quite the enthusiasm of his beloved treat.

Keoto isn’t looking for someone who needs a cat constantly in their lap. He’d be happiest with a person who appreciates quieter companionship and is willing to let their relationship develop naturally.

A peaceful home, predictable routine and ideally a safe catio or other enclosed place where he can enjoy the sights and sounds of the outdoors would suit him beautifully.

Keoto is healthy, neutered and up to date on vaccinations.

He may never be the cat who demands your attention—but give Keoto a safe place, a sunny catio and his favorite treat, and he’ll be quite content to share his world with you.
