Kenzie's Story

Kenzie is a smart, sensitive girl with a big personality and a mind of her own. Street-savvy and wonderfully expressive, she has no trouble letting you know exactly how she feels. When she wants attention, she may walk over and give you a soulful stare until you acknowledge her. When she wants to play, shell sit by a favorite toy and give you that same look—as if to say, Well, are you coming?

And Kenzie loves to play! Wand toys and toy mice are favorites, although the mice may not survive for long. She can happily entertain herself for hours and also enjoys watching bird videos. She loves music, singing, and the sound of calm voices. Talk or sing to her and she may settle nearby, quietly watching and listening as you go about your day.

Kenzie has many sides to her personality. She can be sweet and shy, silly and playful, bold and feisty, and sometimes very direct about what she does and doesnt like. Shes a cat who communicates clearly, and learning to understand her is part of what makes building a relationship with her so rewarding.

Kenzie is still learning that she is safe. She can be anxious and cautious around unfamiliar things, sudden movements, loud noises, and household items she doesnt understand. Her ideal adopter will be patient, calm, and gentle and, most importantly, willing to let Kenzie set the pace. She isnt a cat who should be pressured into instant affection or interaction. Give her some space, allow her to observe and adjust, and she will gradually begin reaching out on her own.

A quiet, predictable home would be ideal for Kenzie. Someone experienced with shy or under-socialized cats would be wonderful, but a patient person willing to learn and give her the time she needs could also be a great match. She does well with other indoor cats and may benefit from having a calm feline companion.

Kenzie isnt looking for someone who expects an instant lap cat. Shes looking for someone who will appreciate her intelligence, sensitivity, playfulness, and wonderfully unique personality—and who understands that some of the strongest bonds are the ones that are allowed to develop slowly.

Give Kenzie time, let her choose the pace, and you may just earn the trust of a very special girl. Kenzie was born around 10/31/2023.

For more pictures and videos of Kenzie, please see her Flickr album: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjD25GD

For more information or to apply to adopt: https://www.anjelliclecats.com/adopt

Anjellicle Cats Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process is as follows. We have all interested adopters complete an application which can be found on our website www.anjelliclecats.com. Please note some foster caregivers are comfortable introducing you to their cat via FaceTime or similar platform. Others still prefer a hand-to-paw meeting. Once your application is approved, we schedule you to attend a seminar in cat care that lasts about 75 minutes. We invite both experienced and novice alike and are presently offering this as a Zoom session. Then you would sign the adoption papers, pay the adoption fee, and make arrangements for the cat to be moved to your home. We always do a home visit which is both reassuring to the cat when it is being introduced and to the foster who has taken care of the cat. Presently we are doing home visits with FaceTime or Zoom to confirm you have secure windows and a generally safe environment for a cat. Then we coordinate pick up by the adopter or drop off by the foster, depending on what both parties are comfortable doing. The adoption fee is $150 for one cat under 7 years old, and $75 for one cat 7 years and older. This fee includes initial shots, microchipping, deworming, and spay/neuter.
