Kenzie's Story

A Homebody Seeking His "One and Only"

Kenzie is a 4-year-old soul who spent some time on the streets and has no intention of trying that again, thank you very much. Life according to Kenzie should follow a predictable daily routine, including multiple food-checks, an enthusiastic good morning ritual, and afternoon cuddles. He’ll happily watch TV with you–but he knows what end credits sound like, so don’t think you can binge watch without sharing a snack between episodes!

Kenzie is a big, strong boy who has mellowed over his year indoors. He sometimes still lashes out when irritated–like if you left him alone for too long, didn’t bring his beloved Churo at the regularly scheduled time, or got your hand in his line of sight when he’s in fixation mode. If you offer him a brush, he will turn into a little prairie dog and forgive you right away.

Kenzie wants a quiet home where he is the center of your universe. No other pets, no kids—just you, Kenzie, a window, his favorite catnip banana, and a soft blanket to share.

To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
