Kelpie's Story
We think Kelpie was born in early July. She was born into a feral colony of almost all black cats. Kelpie came into care when she was almost three months old - she is still a work in progress.

She no longer dives and hides for cover when her fosters come into the room, but would very much prefer not to be touched. She will eat squeeze tube treats out of her foster's hand, and will grudgingly let herself be pet when she is eating, and sometimes she will play with a wand toy with her foster. However, she much prefers the company of her brothers Jake and Elwood to being with any human - particularly Elwood, who she frequently snuggles with. She would love to be adopted with him if possible.

We are hoping with time and patience she will grow to understand that it is safer being indoors with humans rather than taking her chances with all the perils of outdoor life. She is a sweet and gentle kitty who is slowly building her confidence. She would need a quiet, patient and understanding home and another kitty friend to continue her progress.

NOTE 1: Spays, neuters, first vaccinations and vet checks are included in the adoption fee.

NOTE 2: Because a young kitten needs feline companionship, it is the policy of Cat Rescue Network that kittens 6 months or younger be adopted out in pairs unless there is another kitten or young cat already in the home.

NOTE 3: Cat Rescue Network only adopts their cats to homes in the National Capital region of Canada
