Katie's Story

DOB: 09/07/25Katie came into GRASP care a couple months ago as a small and sweet little girl who was getting over some sort of common kitty sickness. Once healthy, Katie became quite comfortable in her foster home. Maybe too comfortable? Katie has a lot of energy. We repeat... A LOT of energy. She also doesn’t understand cat social cues. Like when the 10-year-old resident cat doesn’t want to play - it doesn’t translate to “please leave me alone” in Katie’s cute little kitten brain. Instead she continues to aggravate the older cat until they need to be separated. Despite that, Katie would love a young kitty friend. Any feline playmate would need to be energetic, very playful, and willing to patiently teach Katie how to “cat” nicely. It is not recommended that Katie be adopted into a home with older cats or children. She would do well with teenagers. She has not been around dogs, but she has very little fear (not even the vacuum scares her) so she may do well with a playful dog.Katie will need a cat-savvy adopter as she does try to play roughly with hands and attack feet. She has learned to eat her dry food from a puzzle feeder and figured it out within a few days. Interactive play and learning tricks will help with her boundless energy! Katie is most active in the morning, evening and at night - she takes a very long mid-day nap to recharge (and she's very cute during her sleepy times).Overall, Katie makes her foster family laugh throughout the day with her crazy antics. She is not a cuddly kitty, but she is definitely entertaining!<br/>This cat has been combo-tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, received all age-appropriate vaccinations and is altered.
