Kale's Story

Meet Radish, Kale & Squash!

If Veggie Tales had a feline cast, we think Radish, Kale, and Squash would be the stars of the show! And while they may have grown from the same little veggie patch, each one has a personality all their own.

KALE & SQUASH — Two Peas in a Pod

These boys are over-the-top friendly, affectionate, playful, and completely devoted to their people — and each other.

You may notice that these handsome boys have a couple of unique features. Kale came to us with a serious eye injury that ultimately required an enucleation, while Squash has a cosmetic eye issue that has been closely monitored by our veterinary team. Neither one has let any of that slow him down for a second!

Kale and Squash actively seek out their humans for attention and love, and when it's time to play, they are ALL IN.

Laser light? Bring it.
Crinkle balls? Yep.
Wand toys? You bet ya!

They're also truly bonded. Kale and Squash don't do well when separated for very long, so these two best buddies are looking for their forever home together.

RADISH — The Sweet & Gentle One

Radish is the sweet girl of the veggie patch. She loves her people, enjoys being held, and has a wonderfully gentle side, but she's a little more reserved than her outgoing brothers.

She'll do best in a quieter home with a friendly, confident kitty who can help show her the ropes while she settles in. Give Radish a little time to get comfortable, and you'll discover a very sweet girl who has so much love to give.

And these three have quite a story behind them.

Radish, Kale, and Squash came to us from a colony in Longview, Mississippi, where what started as about 20 cats quickly grew to 34 — including quite a few kittens.

Thankfully, rescuers stepped in, and these three got their chance at something completely different.

They discovered soft beds. Good food. Toys. Safety. And, most importantly, people who loved them.

All three have thrived despite the odds and have been dearly loved by their foster. They've learned just how wonderful indoor life can be, and now they're ready to grow beyond their foster home and take on a much bigger world.

Kale & Squash: bonded and going home together
Radish: looking for a quieter home with a confident feline friend

Whether your heart belongs to Radish or to the dynamic duo of Kale & Squash, there's a whole lot of personality packed into this little veggie patch.

They've survived the odds. They've learned to trust. Now they're ready for their next chapter.

Everybody loves kittens, and it's easy to see why! Kittens four months old or younger are only adopted out in pairs or to homes that already have a friendly, playful resident cat. Young kittens simply do not thrive in isolation, and we do not make exceptions. If you're looking for a single cat, please look to our older kittens, teens, or adults. They're wonderful companions and fully ready to be your one-and-only.

All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. Sweet Paws is staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting.
