JULIUS's Story
MEET JULIUS!

Have you heard the lore about orange cats? Here’s one looking for a home to match his orange-cat-charm! Meet Julius. This 8+ year old guy was being cared for by community cat feeders in Philadelphia for several months when his caretaker noticed that he seemed to be losing weight and not feeling well. Julius was brought to the shelter for immediate help then joined City of Elderly Love so we could round out his recovery.

Despite being an outdoor cat, Julius is incredibly social. He is very people-oriented and soaks up any and all attention he can get. It’s clear that Juilius prefers life indoors. He loves to cuddle up on the couch and play. He’ll even play fetch and bring his toys back to you. He’s currently living with children in his foster home with whom he is friendly and social with. He will sometimes grab hold with his paws and nibble during play sessions so we recommend that he go to a home with older or cat-savvy children. Julius is currently in foster care with other cats and dogs, both of whom he gets along with well after a proper introduction.

Julius was in pretty bad shape when he entered the shelter. He was battling a pretty nasty upper respiratory infection which was really impacting his ability to eat and care for himself. Luckily, a hospital stay while under the care of the shelter helped kickstart his recovery and he’s completely kicked his cold. He’s been steadily gaining his weight back and looks like a completely different cat in just a couple months’ time. Julius does have a sensitive stomach and is currently on Biome food.

Julius is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is also FIV/FeLV negative. Interested in adopting him? Visit cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire!
