Jules's Story

Meet Jules, a tiny explorer who loves squeezing herself into every cozy cubby she can find. When she is not curled up in her latest hideaway, she is busy chasing toys and keeping herself entertained. Jules has cerebellar hypoplasia, which means she moves a little differently, but it never slows her down. CH cats like Jules don't need special medical care, but they do best in a home with some thoughtful setups like rugs for traction, low sided litter boxes, and soft landings. She is sweet, curious, and full of kitten energy, and she is ready to bring all that joy to her new family.

Elmbrook Humane Society's Adoption Policy

If you would like to adopt an animal in our care, the first step is to complete our adoption application. Applications can be filled out online or in person and are reviewed same-day (as long as they are received during business hours). We are open for viewing from 1-6pm every day*. While there is no appointment needed to walk through the shelter and view all of the animals, appointments will be required to meet and/or adopt. Appointments can be made same-day when available or scheduled up to a week in advance with an approved application. Operating by appointment allows us to provide the best possible care for the animals and service to you. We encourage all family members in the household to meet the adoptable animal prior to adoption (this may be required for certain animals). If you are adopting a dog and have another dog in your household, we encourage you bring in your dog to meet their potential new companion (this may be required for certain dogs). *The shelter is closed on holidays and the last day of every month. **Beginning in 2026, the shelter will be closed on the last Tuesday of every month.
