Many arrive scared and unsure, needing time to adjust to new surroundings, unfamiliar feline neighbors, and the kindness of strangers. But with the unwavering dedication of our amazing volunteers, heaps of patience, and endless love, we’ve seen so many cats blossom.<br/><br/>Take Juanita, for example. When she first arrived as a stray, she was all nerves and hisses. But slowly—gently—she’s started to come out of her shell. At 2.5 years old, Juanita is what we affectionately call a “project cat.” She’s not ready to be a lap cat, but she’s making progress every week. These small victories—like confidently lounging in the open on her favorite cushy cat bed—are worth celebrating.<br/><br/>And let’s not forget: Juanita has the second cutest smile in the shelter (Gingersnappy still holds the top spot!).
