Josie's Story

Meet Jazz and Josie! These sweet, shy, and silly beauties came into rescue when they were feral 3-month-old kittens. With a lot of patience, they've blossomed into house cats with the best little personalities and they have been so patiently waiting for their forever home - they say two years in foster is way too long!

Jazz (dilute tortie) is an absolute goofball. She's the braver of the two and loves affection! She will squirm all around like a worm while getting pets and loves to cuddle her foster, especially first thing in the morning. She's a little weirdo who is not quite sure how being a cat works, so when she needs a break from you, why would she get up and walk away when she can slowly slither away on her side? She loves to run and jump and climb.

Josie (calico) took longer to decide to be a brave girl but now that she has? She's an absolute doll. She wants attention and affection on her own terms, but she'll be sure to let you know when she's ready - she rubs on whatever is in her path, vibrates her tail, and meows to ask you to scritch her head. She'll also roll around and show her belly just so you know how happy she is to see you. She may not ever be the cuddly type, but she'll love to be near her people just the same.

These sweet sisters love each other SO MUCH and always greet each other with headbutts, even if they've only been apart for minutes. The must go to a home together, but they also really love other cats a lot, so a home with confident cat(s) who could help them continue to learn to be house cats would be great too!

Jazz and Josie do still have their moments of being shy and so they are looking for a loving, patient home where they can continue to build trust and blossom into their personalities.

Jazz and Josie are 2.5 years old, spayed, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative.

Oakland TNR Coalition's Adoption Policy
Adopting a cat is a big responsibility and commitment, but it's also one of the biggest acts you can ever do for an animal in need. Each cat in our care has its own story and background. All are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, flea-treated, dewormed, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative (unless stated otherwise). Because of the time, care, and vetting put into each cat, our adoption fee is $110 for one cat over one year old or $200 for two, and $140 for one cat under one year old or $260 for two. Filling out this application does not guarantee that you will be approved for adoption. Due to the influx of applications, we may not be able to reply to all applicants. By filling out this application you agree that all information on this form is correct and to our adoption process which includes a home tour, a vet reference (personal reference if you do not have a vet), and landlord approval if you are a renter.
