JOSIE's Story

???? Need a couple of natural rodent managers? Meet Cleo & Josie! ?? Cleo and Josie are 5-month-old sibling kittens looking for placement through our Barn Cat Program. These girls are best suited for an outdoor working-cat role on a barn, farm, or property where they can live independently while helping with pest control. They came into our care after being found relaxing under a shed and keeping to themselves. We've learned that these girls aren’t aggressive; they’re just shy and prefer minimal human interaction. With time and consistency, Cleo and Josie have started to show curiosity and will happily enjoy lickable treats from staff. They’re warming up more each day, but they are not fans of being picked up or cuddled and will communicate that clearly with a hiss. Because of this, they are not lap cats—but they are excellent candidates for outdoor placement. Cleo and Josie do not need to be adopted together, but they would do wonderfully as a pair or alongside other outdoor cats for companionship. If you have a barn, stable, or safe outdoor structure and can provide daily food, fresh water, and shelter, Cleo and Josie would love to join your team! ?? Come meet them at the shelter — please ask staff to assist, as they are not located in the public Cat Adoption Room 430 Bristol Drive, Statesville, NC ?? Cleo | A311779 • 5 months old • Spayed female • 2.6 lbs • Adoption fee waived ?? Josie | A311778 • 5 months old • Spayed female • 2.5 lbs • Adoption fee waived Both cats are spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and have received a current dose of flea prevention as administered while at ICAS. #AdoptFromICAS #MyICASRescue #BarnCatProgram ??
