JOSH's Story
MEET JOSH! Josh is one special guy! Josh arrived at our shelter after falling into a deep hole and becoming trapped until workers noticed him in distress. We couldn't be sure how long Josh was stuck for, but he was so scared and hungry. One of our employees jumped into action, climbing into the hole in the ground and rescuing little Josh. We immediately realized Josh was not even slightly feral - this sweet and gentle soul was just terrified and clearly not doing well fending for himself outside. Since arriving at the shelter, sweet Joshy has started to gain weight and fill out. Now we know him for his expert hiding abilities, love of all things salmon flavored, and affection for other cats. Josh is the kind of kitty that melts into your hand when you scratch his chin, soaking up the love and attention. While we don't know how this calm and tender hearted boy ended up outside near a busy highway, we do know that he would prefer life under a warm blanket from now on. Josh is FIV positive, but he absolutely loves other cats and can safely live with them whether they are FIV positive or not. While Josh would do great as a single kitty, he would greatly benefit from the companionship and confidence that a feline friend brings! He comes out of his shell around other kitties and follows them around during kitty playgroup. Josh is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and current on prevention. Complete an adoption survey at https://cognitoforms.com/YorkCountyAnimalControl/petadoptionsurvey. All Adoptions require a Pre-Adoption Interview with a YCAS Adoption Counselor, a meet and greet, and adoption approval. Every adoptable cat is Spayed or Neutered, implanted with a microchip, current on age appropriate vaccinations including a current 1-year Rabies Vaccination, and current on monthly Flea/tick prevention. All pets are behaviorally and medically evaluated prior to being placed up for adoption. The adoption fee is $77.
