Jonesie (CO)'s Story
*Adoption fee is sponsored!*

Jonesie cat walked right up to his rescuers outside of Jones Oyster Company in downtown Greenville and flopped over to ask for belly rubs and snuggles. Despite having been eating plastic trash bags & scraps to stay alive, he is the sweetest, most affectionate, & chatty little guy who loves to get chin scratches and be held like a baby. 10/10 will frown at you if you stop petting him, and will flop down in front of your feet for belly rubs if he sees you trying to leave a room. (Literally the only time we think it’s cute for a man to tell us we can’t do something… LOL.) He’s a Velcro cat for sure, and we love him for it!

Jonesie is estimated to be a little over a year old, and is recently neutered & microchipped, negative for feline leukemia, and FIV+. He has spent limited time around a dog and other cats, but seems interested in being friends with both. He definitely needs to go to a home where he will have a lot of daily attention from either another human or a pet friend, as he seems to get lonely by himself and then stress-licks his fur. He also seems to love the comfort of a onesie, and wears them now even after he’s fully covered from his neuter surgery. He has had sponsored vet care beyond the initial neuter & testing as well.

A note on why he is considered special needs: He is FIV+ and we are more than happy to speak with any potential adopters regarding his care (which is minimal and mostly keeping him in a low stress environment and keeping his immune system strong). He also has a grade 2 heart murmur but the vet was not concerned and he was put under anesthesia for his neuter appointment.
