Jonathan's Story

Jonathan is a 4 year old purebred sphinx. He is pink with blue eyes. He is extremely affectionate. Sterilized, dewormed, vaccinated and vet checked.

Jon needs the care that sphinxes require! He's low maintenance as far as sphinxes go, but certainly does have more care requirements than other breeds. He needs a bath once per week (he's so good with baths), and a full "wipe-down" once per day, including a quick clean with a cloth all over, and ear and eye cleaning. He needs to sleep with you under the covers. He needs feeding according to strict portions and schedule, because he is very food motivated, like a dog. He needs a kitty wardrobe (he comes with a few items!) for when it's cold, he loves wearing clothes. He wants to be glued to you pretty much all the time, so someone who works from home is required.

Jon would be an incredible companion for someone who wants an active relationship with their animal. He's intelligent and learns quickly. He loves toys. He's good at going on outside adventures with his human (on a leash). He's good with other animals, but also requires a lot of attention, so probably wouldn't be a good fit in a house with other animals who also require a lot of attention.

He was living with a family who had severely neglected him. He was rescued unsterilized, crying all the time, emaciated, completely starved of food, toys and affection, and covered in sunburns. His skin was leathery and brown. A few months later, he has healthy weight on, his skin is healed and is its natural shade of pink, he doesn't cry anymore unless a door is closed or it's feeding time, and he's sterilized. He's made a full recovery.

He has no behavioural issues. He has a slight heart murmur that eventually needs to be followed up with a cardiologist, which unfortunately is typical for sphinxes. He prefers wet food but will eat anything (quality food only)!

Please email robinhoodcatrescue@gmail.com for an adoption interview.
