Jonas's Story

Jonas is an adorable young boy, all gray with darker gray stripes on his tail. He was trapped and ear-tipped as a stray kitten.
Even after arriving in his current foster home in November 2024, he is still VERY SKITTISH, but oh so sweet. His foster mom is still working on helping him to come out of his shell. But unless he's in his 'safe space' (his bed in an open crate, see pic), he runs when she tries to pet him. When she does pet him, it takes a few seconds for him to relax and start enjoying it and purring softly. Jonas does not come to her to be petted yet. He will cautiously take treats from her hand though. He's so sweet, doesn't hiss, swat or bite her. He's just really afraid still. He does seem to like to be near her though. He is playful and especially loves active play with one of his buddies in his foster home, or with the wand toy. Jonas LOVES other cats! Being with another friendly cat definitely helps Jonas to feel more secure.
His foster mom will continue to work with him, but he is available to be adopted now if the adopter is willing to give him a chance to get acclimated and continue working with him. His foster mom can give advice and keep in touch for support and suggestions.
Jonas will need a special adopter who understands he is still very skittish and may always be. He needs someone who will give him lots of love and patience.
Jonas would do best in a calm, quiet household that has a friendly cat he can bond with, or be adopted with a buddy. He did not want to come out of the foster room to meet the Great Dane (sweet but very large!) in his foster home.
Jonas has a pigment change in one eye that will need to be watched for any changes in the future.
Jonas has been neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, dewormer/flea treated, and microchipped.
Check out Jonas's full profile on FURR's website for more PICS/VIDEOS here:
https://www.felineurbanrescueandrehab.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21007042 . ---To meet any of our cats please fill out our adoption application to be approved.
