Joey's Story
Joey is a 5.5-year-old female tuxedo kitty with a sweet, playful, and friendly personality. She's an easygoing girl who enjoys toys and loves being near her people. Joey can be a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, she truly blossoms and enjoys human companionship--and she especially loves sitting in laps once she gets to know you. In 2024, Joey was diagnosed with stomatitis, a painful inflammatory condition of the mouth, and had all of her teeth removed to keep her comfortable. Cats do extremely well without teeth, and Joey eats normally and is feeling great. She is also FIV-positive (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives with regular, annual vet checkups. FIV is spread primarily through deep bite wounds, not casual contact, so FIV-positive and FIV-negative cats can safely live together in peaceful homes. Joey previously lived with another cat and did very well, showing her relaxed and social nature. If there are children in your home, she would do best with children over 5 years old, and she may be fine with a gentle, cat-friendly dog with proper introductions. Joey is a sweet, special girl with so much love to give and is ready to find her forever home! Her adoption fee is $200.

*To visit our cats, you must make an appointment on-line at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt.*

Note: While we are happy to respond to your questions about any of our cats, you will still be required to make an on-line appointment at www.caringforcatsmn.org/adopt if you wish to meet our cats.
