Joey's Story

This chill guy is Joey! He came to us from local animal control and is now ready to find a loving forever home to cherish him! He is around 6 years old and is a big guy, weighing 20 pounds. He enjoys pets and watching his surroundings. He loves to plop down beside you and just be near you. Joey doesn't seem to mind most other cats and sometimes will even play with them. If another cat is grumpy with him, he tends to run away or hide under something as he's not a fan of conflict. Joey is currently on a bit of a weight loss journey, so he is hoping to find someone that can continue with his diet and work on his activity.
-
Joey is FIV+. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus is spread to other cats through deep-muscular bite wounds or sometimes in utero. It is not contagious to dogs or humans. Cat friendly cats with FIV can live with other cats who are negative for FIV as long as both are friendly. It is crucial that FIV cats remain indoors only and are kept up to date on vaccines. Most FIV+ cats can live normal lives.
