Joey's Story

Available now!

Kitty's date of birth: 4/10/23

Joey and her sister Maeve had a rough start to life. They battled an especially tough strain of Upper Respiratory Infection as babies and Joey has had off/on symptoms ever since. This hasn't stopped them from being a loving, playful pair who are full of spunk and personality!

Joey may be the friendliest and most affectionate kitty on the planet. She has never met a stranger. She would be an AMAZING therapy cat! Her coat has gorgeous markings, with black, brown, silver and cream. Her adopter will need to be willing and able to take her to the vet when needed. We expect that she may need more vet care than the average kitty because she has chronic rhinitis.

Chronic rhinitis in cats is a long-term inflammation of the nasal lining, often caused by previous infections like feline herpesvirus, or other factors like dental disease, allergies, or foreign bodies. It's characterized by persistent or recurring sneezing, nasal discharge (clear, cloudy, or bloody), and sometimes facial discomfort. While some cases can be managed with medications, a cure is often not possible, and these cats are sometimes called "chronic snufflers".

Kitty's adoption fee covers spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, age-appropriate distemper vaccines (at least 2), FeLV/FIV test, flea treatment, microchip & registration and dewormer.

We believe that kitties should have a feline friend! For their health and happiness, we highly recommend that kitties be adopted in pairs. If you adopt more than one kitty, you will receive a discount of $25 per kitty. Previous adopters will receive a $25 discount on their new kitty.

If this will be your first kitty, we suggest that you check out this site for a lot of important information: Cat Adoption Checklist. People think cats are easy pets, but they are very unique and there is a lot to learn. There is a lot of information online, and you are always welcome to ask us our advice.

You'll want to make sure you have all the basic supplies before you bring a baby home: nutrious food, bowls (not plastic), litter, litter pan, litter scoop, toys, scratchers & cat trees, nail clippers and a cat carrier.
