Joe's Story

Please note: All AVA kittens under 12 months of age MUST be adopted in pairs or to a home with another young cat ( under 3 ) or kitten to keep them company. Two is better than one, twice the fun and 1/2 the work
Update March 25th, 2026 - Joe is now at the Ruffins Pet Store, 1760 Upper James St in Hamilton. Go pay this cutie a visit
Please read Joe's bio, requirements for adoption and if you think he would be a good fit then go to avacats.org and fill out an online application form. An adoption co ordinator will be in touch
Joe came in to our rescue end of February - he was a surrender. A young girl bought him from Kijiji but he had some health issues like Upper Respiratory infection and she couldn't afford vet bills. He went to our vet where he was flea treated, dewormed , put on antibiotics and eye meds. He was sent home to a foster home where he received the TLC he needed. Once his meds were done and he was looking better he went back to the vet for a recheck. He was then dewormed again, received his 1st FVCRP vaccines and microchipped. He is now ready for adoption. His booster FVCRP vaccine and rabies is the responsibility of his new owner and MUST be completed prior to his neuter by AVA at 4 - 5 months which is included in his $275 adoption fee. Joe is your typical playful active kitten who loves his toy mice, springs, crinkle balls and wand toys. He loves to cuddle on his foster mom's lap while watching TV etc. He MUST go to a home with another young cat or kitten - a dog doesn't count. He would be good with older children. AVA has an indoor and no declaw policy
