Jett's Story
Jett is a tall, lanky guy; one of the largest in our facility. He is so big that it was actually rather difficult to get all of him in a picture, so we opted for just some close-ups. Other defining physical characteristics of his include piercing green eyes, long reaching legs, and the 14 inch flagpole of a tail protruding at all times. Despite his imposing stature, Jett's personality is that of a gentle giant. He's a mousy guy, with a tremulous meow and scaredy-cat spirit. It seems that sister Blossom, even with her short and stoutness, took all the big personality genes and didn't leave any for poor Jett (sister BLOSSOM has another profile on our page).
Being the quiet guy he is, it is the unfortunate truth that Jett will likely not approach people on the first meeting. He very much prefers to lurk behind people until he deems it safe to approach. That being said, Jett's idea of 'safe' does not include rambunctious people, i.e. children. Instead, Jett is drawn to calmer people, and plenty lively around them. He often follows me around meowing, almost like he's whispering at me to pet him, and standing a head above the other cats, he can easily be seen in the swarm that greets me every day. With steady encouragement, Jett certainly gets braver in his environment as well as his interactions.
An unintended consequence of being raised from early kitten-hood is that Jett also responds to "baby," which is something he's been called his whole life. And, honestly, its an apt nickname for him. Should you call out to him, either Jett or baby, he will promptly raise his tail and meander over. He is also always welcoming to other cats around him and typically prefers the companionship, namely from his sister. Similarly, he is comfortable around well mannered dogs and usually playful with them. And even in Jett's inherent gangly-ness, he is exceedingly nimble when he's playing and hunting his toys (and you better believe he's *always* up to stretching those long legs). Jett would do best in a tranquil home with an owner willing to be patient with him (and bring his sister along, too) and is anxiously awaiting a chance to really fill out in a space of his own.
