Jenga's Story

Jenga is a sweet, affectionate, and cuddly cat who had the unfortunate circumstance of finding herself homeless, and on the streets to fend for herself. Fortunately, she was found by a cat-vocate with a local TNR program who realized quickly she loved people, and needed a comfy bed in a warm home. She appears to have had a rough life while on the streets, as she came into rescue with scabs on her neck and back, a sensitive paw, and missing a canine tooth. Since being in her foster home, she has bonded with all the humans, and has discovered sleeping in bed with them is the best. She loves attention, and is only vocal when she wants something - usually her canned food or to be held - but is otherwise quiet and happy. Her purr machine activates once she's held, and she loves ear rubs and neck scratches. Jenga has the most beautiful green eyes, tiger stripe markings, and occasionally a lopsided smile due to her missing tooth. She enjoys chasing the laser pointer, playing with strings, and scratching her cardboard post. She doesn't love the dogs in her foster home, but is not scared of them, and tolerates their presence. It is unknown how she would do with another cat. Jenga is scheduled for her spay at our veterinary partner in Urbandale, on January 20th, and will be available for adoption after.

Adoption fee is $75.00 which includes spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccines/cares, and microchip. Jenga is FIV/FeLV negative.

If you would like to meet, please complete an online application that can be found at: https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/198/hope-cat--application
