Jekyll's Story
Jekyll is a smart, handsome senior gentleman who is looking for a calm household to settle down in. He is shy at first, but will soon make friends, especially if you offer some of his favorite treats. Jekyll has many thoughts about his surroundings, and wants to share them all! He frequently engages in long conversations with his humans, sometimes making multi-syllabic, very expressive utterances. When things around him are calm, he’s happy to settle in to lounge quietly next to his people, or near their feet, or in a cozy cat bed. His purrs and biscuit making skills are top-notch! Jekyll needs a medication to manage his asthma and he takes it easily with his food.

Jekyll’s “inner kitten” emerges to enjoy short sessions of chasing a feather toy; he especially likes one with a bell attached. He also loves catnip toys and is good at puzzle feeders and can get along with another calm cat. He also happens to be a musically inclined guy! You may know how sometimes cats “sing a song of their people“ -- What about you? Do you like to sing? Jekyll very much appreciates it when you sing to him. As off key and flat as you like. And he likes relaxing classical music too. :).

Just wait ‘til you see Jekyll’s intelligent eyes looking into yours — you’ll know he’s something special! He is sooo handsome; pictures don't really capture him. You need to meet him and see for yourself. Because he is so gentle and can be overwhelmed when there is too much going on, we think he would not thrive is a busy, noisy home. We recognize that he is shy, even with a songfest going on in the home, so we are offering an unusual option for potential adopters who are on the fence. If you are patient and understanding and interested but are not sure about making an adoption commitment without a trial run, you can try fostering this sweet fella with the eventual hope to adopt him once you get to know him.
